Southern Hampshire Primary Care Alliance (SHPCA) is a federation of GP Practices reaching from Bordon, down the A3 corridor to Fareham and Gosport, and across to Hayling Island.

We have come together to develop a sustainable, high-quality, patient-focused primary care service for our local communities including Clinical Assessment Service 111 First, Out of Hours GP Extended Access, Covid Oximetry at Home and Cardiology.

As a provider of unscheduled care services across the Hampshire and IOW Integrated Care Board area, we have a constant need to add to our bright and dynamic medical team to ensure we continue to deliver care to our vast patient population. We proudly continue to lead the way with innovation in line with the vision of the NHS.

We can offer a variety of opportunities within the Clinical Assessment Service (CAS). If you want to broaden your clinical experience, are looking for more flexible hours, and need the freedom to develop a more fulfilling career, then SHPCA is the quintessential place for you.

Whatever your interests, we’ll make sure that your skills are kept up to date with a Continuous Professional Development programme.

The Clinical Assessment Service is a telephone-based service that is physically located in the Waterlooville Health Centre, PO7 6AL. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team where the GPs are the lead clinicians. The CAS team manages all dispositions facilitating access to Primary Care through to category 3 and 4 ambulance dispositions and Emergency Department Validations. You’ll provide comprehensive and competent assessments, advice, and treatment for primary care problems following relevant guidance where appropriate. CAS GPs have full use of our electronic prescribing as well as the electronic Directory of Services, which will allow you to see the full range of services available for you to manage the patient.

Shifts are typically 4-5 hours long, however as we provide care between 0730 and 2230, 7 days a week, you have the choice of day-time, evening and weekend shifts.

Our sessions are managed via our bespoke workforce platform Sensei.
